Pair Held Without Bond on Fentanyl Charge

On March 7, 2021, the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force arrested Aaron Thomas Mitchell, 26, of Hagerstown and Samantha Jeanine Louden, 28, of Cumberland on Interstate 68 in the area of Flintstone, MD.

Mitchell and Louden were the subject of a CDS investigation for the distribution and sales of fentanyl in the Allegany County area. Mitchell and Louden were found to be in possession of a large amount of fentanyl. The approximate street value of the fentanyl found was over $9,000.

During the investigation, the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force also executed a search and seizure warrant in the 400 block of Louisiana Avenue, Cumberland, MD. A search of the residence led to the seizure of an assault rifle and two handguns.

Mitchell and Louden were both charged with the following:

 

Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl

Possession Large Amount of Fentanyl

Possession of Fentanyl

Charges are pending on Mitchell and Louden for the firearms. After seeing a District Court Commissioner and after a bail review, they were both held without bail.

The Allegany County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Maryland State Police S.T.A.T.E. Team, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland City Police Department and Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack.
