Philadelphia Man Charged with Cumberland Offenses Involving Crack

On Saturday, Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on Thomas Arthur Norris, age 30, of Philadelphia PA.

Norris was arrested during an incident on November 13th, 2019 when Cumberland City Police found him to be in possession of quantities of suspected crack cocaine, marijuana, and other scheduled medications. Also during this incident, Norris was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and have active warrants for his arrest through the State of Delaware. Norris initially gave a fictitious name during the incident attempting to hide his true identity.

Through continued investigation, It was learned that Norris was prohibited to possess firearms or ammunition in the State of Maryland due to previous felony convictions. As a result, Norris was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and using a false name to avoid prosecution. Norris was served the summons and is currently awaiting trial in District Court.
