Maryland Avenue Disturbance Leads to Arrest

On Monday, March 29th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Maryland Avenue residence for the report of a disturbance.  Officers had already responded to the residence previously for a similar complaint.  When officers arrived, contact was made with a complainant who advised that Katelin Marie Moorehead had again showed up to her residence causing a disturbance and had broken some of her property.  Officers contacted Moorehead who in their presence, kicked the complainant’s dog and then began to assault her.  Moorehead was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, destruction of property, assault, and animal cruelty.  She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

A criminal summons was also served on Moorehead charging her with burglary, destruction of property, disturbing the peace, and assault from the previous incident that officers responded to.
