Garrett County Sheriff Rob Corley has put out an advisory that individuals claiming to be from the power company have been attempting to get into residences in the Oakland area.
Potomac Edison does not have crews that are doing that, so it's believed to be a scam.
Corley advises not to allow anyone into your home that you have questions about.
