Although he had some strong words for the management team of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad a few weeks ago- Allegany County Commissioner Jake Shade says that should not be interpreted as his being against the tourist train. At a recent county budget meeting, Shade expressed serious concern with the assets versus liabilities of the current operation- and also had reservations about another request for increased county funding. The bottom line however is that it’s vitally important for Allegany County that the railroad succeeds as its remains one of the anchors of the local tourism industry…
