Superintendent Discusses Latest Teacher Arrest

On Monday of this week a Mountain Ridge High School teacher was indicted on charges of having sexual contact with a 16 year-old student. It marks the third time in the past ten years that such an incident has occurred in the Allegany County public school system- and all three have involved teachers at Mountain Ridge. School Superintendent David Cox was a guest Wednesday morning on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” to discuss the situation- although he could not specifically comment on the latest incident as it’s an ongoing investigation.  Cox said it would be unfair and inaccurate to point the finger of blame at the Mountain Ridge principal or administration- emphasizing that those at the school followed all of the existing protocols during each incident…
