Teens Charged With Attempted First Degree Murder Of Deep Creek Lake Man

Shortly before 10:30 PM on Tuesday, October 8th, the Garrett County Sheriff's Office was notified to respond to a residence in the 20,000 block of Garrett Highway at Deep Creek Lake for a resported assault. At the location they found a 29-year old man with serious lacerations to his head and face. The victim was transported to Garrett Regional Medical Center by EMS and later flown to Ruby Memorial for treatment.

19-year old Renn Camdon Hartman and 17-year old Elijah Dennis Dalton, both of Mt. Lake Park, are being charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault and conspiracy to commit those crimes. They are being held in the Garrett County Detention Center pending bond hearings.

Investigators determinted the two traveled to the victim's residence, where they waited from him to return. Evidence shows that the victim was assaulted outside the door of his residence and then dragged inside. After the pair left, the victim managed to get to a neighbors' house for help. The current condition of the victim is not being released.
