Two Pedestrians Critical After Being Struck on National Highway in LaVale

Early this morning, at approximately 5:09 am, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack were dispatched to the area of US Route 40 alternate at Cupler Drive in LaVale, regarding two pedestrians that had been struck in the roadway by a motor vehicle. 

Preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police revealed that two pedestrians were struck by a 2015 Hyundai sedan. 

The patients are in critical condition and the roadway will be closed for an extended period of time while the collision is investigated.  The Maryland State Police CRASH Team is assisting in the investigation
