State police have released the names of the three people who died Monday in a house fire in Meyersdale. State Trooper Stephen Limani of Greensburg identified the deceased as homeowner Lugene Albright, 55, her son, Jimmy Christner, 31, and his girlfriend, Sarah Bottorff, 22. An autopsy is being performed to find the cause and manner of death, Limani said. The Cumberland Times News reports the trooper said he believed the three died from smoke inhalation.
The blaze broke out around 2 a.m. at 103 Maple Valley Road. Crews from four volunteer fire companies responded to the fire in the home, located along a winding road.
A state police fire marshal is searching for the cause.
Firefighters from Meyersdale, Garrett, Salisbury and Berlin responded.
