Vehicles in Keyser broken into

October 17th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Keyser police reports that thieves forced entry into a locked vehicle at Main Alley where a purse was left in plain view. The Cumberland Times News reports that the theft was reported to police Friday. The purse and its contents were found thrown over a nearby embankment. Money was removed from the purse. Thefts from vehicles were also reported Friday and Saturday by residents on Maple Avenue and Mozelle Street. All three theft complaints related to locations within a several block radius of the city's North End.

Those vehicles were left unlocked and various items were taken, police said.

"We continue to urge residents to keep valuables out of their vehicles and to keep their vehicles locked. There are individuals roaming the streets at night checking for unlocked doors on vehicles. When they find one unlocked, they enter," said a Keyser Police spokesman.

Anyone with information about the thefts or observing suspicious activity in their neighborhoods should call Keyser Police at 304-788-1311.
