Allegany County officials have agreed to pursue the purchase the remaining acres of the 800-acre property formerly known as Cumberland Chase following formal price negotiations with landowner Summit Community Bank.  This follows the purchase a year ago of 260 acres.   The property sits on the east side of Dan's Mountain with a view of the Potomac River's North Branch. The acreage is located at the front of the property facing U.S. Route 220 near Rawlings.  The commissioners have long viewed the as being in the idea location for prime economic development opportunities.
