CPD Makes Disorderly Conduct And Breaking & Entering Arrests

On February 9th, 2020, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Maryland Avenue business for a large fight inside the store. Upon the officers arrival the parties had already separated and they spoke with an employee who witnessed the incident, as well as Deserai Aliase Burns. The employee advised the officers that a fight had broken out inside the store between a large group of people and caused damage to several items belonging to the store to be destroyed. The officers spoke with Burns who advised that she was assaulted, thrown to the ground and then was attacked by numerous individuals. The officers then reviewed security footage of the incident and learned that Burns had assaulted one of the other persons involved, which caused the other persons involved to participate in the fight. Burns was placed under arrest for intoxicated disorderly conduct, intoxicated endangerment, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and destruction of property. Burns was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where she was later released on her own recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Breaking and Entering Arrest

 

On February 9th, 2020, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Greene Street residence for a reported breaking and entering and an assault. Upon the officers arrival spoke with the victim, who advised that the occupants in a neighboring apartment were being loud during the early morning hours, and she confronted them about the noise. Caitlin Diane Dolly then chased her through the apartment building. The victim retreated back to her apartment where Dolly forced entry into her apartment, grabbed her, and began to threaten her. Officers then attempted to contact Dolly, who once observing the police, shut her door and locked it. Officers were then able to make entry into Dolly’s apartment where she was placed under arrest. Dolly was charged with burglary third degree, burglary fourth degree, assault second degree, obstructing and hindering, and disorderly conduct. Dolly was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where she was later released on her own recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.
