Hanover Street Assault Arrest

On January 10th, 2026 at approximately 2:50 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of Hanover Street for the report of an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with a victim who advised that they were in an argument with Todd Eric Bennett Jr. The argument turned physical and they were shoved into a corner grabbed by the neck and struck in the face. Officers were able to observe fresh injuries that corroborated the victim’s statement. Bennett was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was presented before a District Court commissioner and released on an unsecured bond of $1,000.
