Maryland Republicans Urge Hearings On Food Stamp Errors

Republicans in the Maryland House of Delegates are not pleased with food stamp errors committed by the state.  The Department of Human Services reports that two senior officials conceived a plan to maintain a high error rate on food stamp payments.  House Minority Leader Jason Buckel stated, “Maryland already has the dubious distinction of being a national leader in high food stamp error rates.  This must be investigated.”  The Republican Caucus has sent a letter to House Speaker Joseline Pena-Melnyk requesting investigative hearings on the issue.
