Community Schools Could Get More Funding

Governor Wes Moore’s ambitious budget announcement for education last week sees a $374 million dollar increase over last year’s funding. Focusing on capital investment, teacher recruitment and retention, and a new academic excellence program, the budget also calls for a significant increase in community schools funding of $572 million. For Allegany County, that would aid in providing more wraparound services to 17 designated community schools…
