House Republicans Re-Elect Leaders

In a leadership election this week, Maryland’s House Republican Caucus re-elected Delegates Jason Buckel and Jesse Pippy to serve as House Minority Leader and House Minority Whip. The positions are elected annually and the Leader and Whip run as a team. Buckel, from Allegany County has served as Minority Leader since 2021, while Pippy was first elected Whip in 2023. Buckel said the state has many challenges ahead this session and Republican voices and solutions are tailored to meet those challenges.
