988 Line Funding Crisis

“988 was set up three years ago as an easy-to-remember phone number connecting counselors with people experiencing mental health crises. Federal funding of the state grants crucial to the program will expire next September, with no plans for renewal, leaving individual state legislatures to make up the shortfall.”
