Job Market In Flux
The latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics finds a nationwide job market that continues to be in flux. Two weeks ago, initial claims for state unemployment benefits jumped by 8-thousand. In the week that just ended, the number fell by 9-thousand, landing just under 200-thousand applications, altogether. The less-volatile four-week moving average also fell by 65-hundred to its lowest level in a year. Maryland’s current unemployment rate sits at 4.2%.
