Potomac Valley Hospital Expanding ER

Over $8 million dollars is being invested by WVU Medicine to expand the emergency department at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser. Money will also be spent on improvements to the hospital’s observation unit, lab, and operating room. The emergency department expansion will allow increased capacity including four additional treatment rooms, bringing the total to 12, and four fast-track bays. Potomac Valley recorded just under 20,000 ER visits in 2025 and anticipates serving just under 25,000 by 2030.
