Maryland Commute Second Only to NY

Maryland workers in the metro area spend an average of almost 32 minutes one-way for their everyday commute to work, according to information from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. The state is only second to New York that has a slightly longer daily commute. Getting down into county-level trends, the longest commute times are in Maryland’s northern and southern counties in the eastern part of the state, including Frederick with commutes that sometimes reach up to 40 minutes one-way.
