Stay Up-to-Date on Road Conditions this Weekend
With the impending snowstorm taking place this weekend, both Maryland and West Virginia have declared a state of preparedness. Accumulation is still unknown for the region, but Charlie Gischlar with the Maryland State Highway Administration says staying off the road is best and will keep it clear for emergency personnel. If you do have to go out, Gischlar says to make sure vehicles are winter ready—good tires and tread, operating lights, and plenty of fuel to combat freezing gas lines—and check road conditions on roads.maryland.gov…
“There you have access to hundreds of live traffic cameras, an incident page in real time, and access to our storm application which shows you where the equipment is and where they were for the last 30 minutes. So, if you use all that information, you can develop a good transportation plan. But again, we ask folks to ride it out if possible.”
