City of Frostburg Winter Storm Emergency

Chris Myers

Frostburg is currently forecasted to receive 18–24 inches of snow from Saturday, January 24 through the early morning hours of Monday, January 26. Residents are urged to take this snow emergency seriously and prepare now. Governor Wes Moore has declared a State of Emergency in response to a major winter storm and dangerously cold temperatures expected to impact Maryland beginning Saturday.

Travel
The City’s Department of Public Works is actively monitoring the storm and is fully prepared for snow removal operations. However, heavy snow and ice are expected to make road conditions extremely hazardous. Please avoid all unnecessary travel during the storm to keep yourself safe and allow emergency and public works crews to do their jobs effectively.

Warming Center
If you are without heat or need relief from the dangerously cold temperatures, the Frostburg Police Department, located at 37 S Broadway, will serve as a warming center beginning Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and will remain available 24/7 throughout the event.
