$164 Million in Hospital Surge Funding

Kathy Cornwell

The State of Maryland is providing hospital surge funding through the Health Services Cost review commission to patient care amid high rates of respiratory illness in the state.  The funds will be administered to Maryland hospitals facing the largest surge of flu cases and patient stays to help cover increased operational costs including staffing, and provide greater budget flexibility to manage the high volume of influenza, RSV, and COVID-19 cases.
