Volunteers Needed for Elections

Kathy Cornwell

The Allegany County Board of Elections is looking for individuals willing to volunteer as poll workers and election judges for the upcoming election season.  Elections Supervisor Wendy Maddox says training classes will begin in April and the county would like to have 40 individuals, including those willing to be serve on standby.  Each volunteer will receive payment for each day they cover…

“Our chief judges are paid $300 for the day, and all other positions are paid $250 for the day.  The training class that you attend, you’re paid $50, and you’re paid contingent on serving on the days that you’re assigned.”
