Greene Street Malicious Destruction of Property and Disorderly Conduct Arrest

Chris Myers is the Morning Show Producer, Broadcaster, at WCBC Radio in Cumberland, Maryland. Myers handles various operational, engineering duties for the station and directs the morning news. In addition to his broadcasting role, Myers is a prominent downtown Cumberland businessman and an active community member who helps organize local events. Myers has been with the Cumberland Broadcasting Company, which operates WCBC, since August 2019 and began his career in radio broadcasting at the age of 14 as a board engineer for WQOL in Florida. In 1998 he was promoted to Chief Engineer for WTTB 1490AM and WGYL 93.7FM. In 2001 Treasure Coast broadcasters purchased additional stations WOSN, WPAW and WGNX.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at approximately 11:06 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Greene Street for an intoxicated male subject attempting to gain entry to multiple vehicles. When officers arrived, they observed the male yelling and drawing the attention of customers. Police contacted him and later identified him as Robert Bennett Jr. Bennett was not cooperative and continued to cause a disturbance. He was placed under arrest at this time. Police also learned that Bennett had allegedly caused damage to one of the vehicles he tried to enter. Bennett was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and he posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.
