House Of Delegates Approves Congressional Map
Maryland’s House of Delegates approved a new congressional district map Monday evening, but it may lack needed support in the Senate. The vote followed party lines, passing 99-37. The bill will face a challenge in the Senate, especially with Democratic Senate President Bill Ferguson who sat on the governor’s redistricting commission and voted against the initiative. Redistricting almost guarantees Democrats another seat, which would take away the last Republican seat in the federal delegation currently held by Andy Harris.
