Jim Zamagias has been with WCBC Radio since 1981. He has been a valuable member of the sports and news teams, even while completing his 45 year career as a teacher at Bishop Walsh. Now retired from teaching, Jim is the evening news voice for WCBC and occasionally hosts the Dave Norman Morning Show. His love of radio dates back to listening to Bob Prince and the Pittsburgh Pirates growing up.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire in Garrett County early Wednesday morning. A passerby noticed the blaze at 2:36 a.m. on Steyer Gorman Road. No one was injured in the mobile home blaze which caused damages of $8,000. The Gorman Volunteer Fire Company brought the fire under control in ten minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
