Redistricting Bill May Stay In Rules Committee
The redistricting bill passed by Maryland’s House of Delegates now awaits its fate in the Senate. The bill redraws the state’s congressional districts, many saying it will cause the loss of the only Republican federal representative. According to Senator Mike McKay, the bill has been assigned to the Rules Committee, and that’s probably where it will stay…
“It will never get a vote, based on the Senate President has said that he doesn’t believe that this is proper or the right way Maryland should be looking at fair maps and that two wrongs don’t make a right and he’s pretty steadfast.”
