Bench Warrant Arrest

On Sunday, February 8th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Shana Dakota Claggett, 27, of Frostburg MD. Claggett was arrested on five active Bench Warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court. Four warrants were issued on January 20th, alleging Claggett failed to comply with orders of the court that stemmed from theft and CDS charges. A fifth warrant was issued on February 5th, when she failed to appear in District Court on theft charges. At the time of her arrest, Claggett had also provided officers with a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest. She was also found to be in possession of amounts of suspected cocaine, Lorazepam, and CDS paraphernalia. Claggett was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held without bond.
