Monks Make Stop At National Cathedral

Kathy Cornwell

Over 100 days ago, about 2 dozen Buddhist Monks left on a 2,300-mile walk for peace from Fort Worth, Texas to Washington D.C. Their path took them across the United States entering the nation’s capital Tuesday. They are spreading a message advocating for peace instead of divisionism. At a stop at the National Cathedral, one of the monks answered a question about reconciling the need to act for justice while maintaining a belief in stillness…

“We have to combine the quest for inner peace with a conscientious commitment out of compassion to insure justice and promote really the wellbeing, safety and security of people who are in trouble and endangered.”
