Governor Delivers State of the State Address

Kathy Cornwell

Maryland Governor Wes Moore delivered his fourth State of the State address to a joint session of the General Assembly on Wednesday. The governor keyed on programs and new initiatives including how data centers will act in the state and education plans. He also reminded attendees of the FEMA snub for Allegany County…

“We asked the federal government to help us recover – and they said no. I appealed the decision directly to the President of the United States. And I let him know the area he was neglecting was one that mainly voted for him. And again, his answer was no.”

Moore said Maryland is stepping up with money in the budget to help Western Maryland…

“I have proposed $12 million dollars to support flood recovery efforts in Allegany County and that includes one million dollars to rebuild the Westernport Library.”
