Sports Wager Tax Income Surpasses FY 2025

Maryland’s sports wagering market generated almost $11 million dollars in tax revenue contributions to the state during January. With five months still remaining in the 2026 fiscal year, tax contributions have already passed the 12-month total for fiscal year 2025. Sports bettors in Maryland wagered over $615 million dollars in January, winning back $539 million. Taxes collected by the state go to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, supporting education programs.
