Advocates Want Industry Accountability on DIY Machine Guns

The fight against the proliferation of DIY machine guns was addressed in a Judicial Proceedings hearing in Annapolis. Senate Bill 334 would require gun makers to design pistols so they cannot easily be converted to fully automatic weapons using illegal devices including so-called Glock switches. Senator Sarah Love says the bill would not negatively affect gun dealers…

“It does not treat dealers unfairly. The bill has a delayed effective date so that existing inventory can be sol. It does not target responsible gun owners. It targets industry designs that make machine gun conversion possible in the first place.”
