Last Day For Candidate Filings

Today is the last day for any potential candidates to file for office ahead of the primary election on June 23.  Office seekers have trickled in for Allegany County – only two individuals are seeking the office of Cumberland Mayor while three people are seeking the two open council seats. To date, five people each have filed for the two open seats on the county commission and county school board and three are seeking the office of Sheriff.  As of Monday, both Senator Mike McKay and Delegate Jason Buckel were running unopposed.
