Mumps Cases Increasing In Maryland

Maryland’s Department of Health is seeing an increase in cases of mumps throughout the state. Almost 30 cases have been reported in the state although the overall risk to the public is considered low because of the state’s high vaccination rate. “Viral symptoms where you may have fever, not feel well, achy. And then the hallmark symptom is the most common symptom of mumps – it’s something called parotitus which is a painful swelling of the glands right below and in front of your ears.”
