With Marylanders facing sustained high costs for utilities and growing power grid concerns, Maryland House Republicans are bringing legislation for relief to ratepayers.  Governor Moore has put forth another $40 rebate to customers from the Strategic Energy Investment Fund, but House Minority Leader Jason Buckel says there are bills in the works to do more…

“But our bill, presented this week, would eliminate in today’s conditions the Empower Maryland surcharge. It would eliminate the charges that we attach and make alternative compliance payments for RGGI, it would eliminate the offshore wind surcharge – I don’t think a lot of people know they’re getting an offshore wind surcharge that can sometimes amount to dollars a month on their bill.”
