Allegany Museum and the Embassy Theatre are thrilled to announce the return of Murder at the Museum, now in its third year. This season’s production, Bored to Death, written and directed by Skylar Lane, promises three nights of suspense, laughter, and theatrical intrigue.
Performances will take place in the Allegany Museum Ballroom on March 6, 7, and 8, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the show beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. New this year is a highly anticipated Sunday matinee, responding to popular demand from last year’s sold-out audiences.
Bored to Death follows a group of community college students attending a weekend retreat for their fraternity, Theta Theta Thespians. Phones are confiscated at the door, and students are forced to work closely with their peers through corny games designed to make them better actors. By the end of the night, even the most enthusiastic thespian may find herself “bored to death.” Emotional delivery, improvisation, and commitment to character are key skills for a successful actor—and perhaps a successful murderer. “This collaborative event has been incredibly successful,” said Dr. Emily Kasecamp, the Museum’s coordinator. “Two nonprofits, three nights, and enthusiastic audiences come together to create a truly fun and whimsical experience.”

Guests will enjoy a cash bar, light refreshments at each table, and the chance to vote for the murderer by ballot at the end of the show. Winners will be entered to receive exciting prizes, including tickets to the Whiskey Rebellion event or a Triple Play Theatre Pass from the Embassy Theatre.
Tickets are $50 per person and are available through the Facebook pages of the Allegany Museum and Embassy Theatre, as well as at alleganymuseum.org on the Events page.
