Morrisey Signs Tax Bills

The West Virginia Legislature is moving closer to the end of its 2026 session, and bills are already on the desk of Governor Patrick Morrisey for signature. The governor signed two bills on Monday that will align state tax law definitions with federal law. Since neighboring states did not pass such alignments, Morrisey said the bills will help business growth in the Mountain State…
“Economic growth is not abstract. So this is a good bill. This is going to help move the needle here in West Virginia. When a manufacturing plant is built, families get paychecks. When innovation happens here instead of somewhere else, our kids have a reason to stay.”
