McKay’s Eminent Domain Bill Would Benefit Bel Air

Senate Bill 0799 has been introduced in Annapolis by Mike McKay – a bill that could potentially aid Bel Air residents. The bill prohibits the Public Service Commission from approving a rate increase for a water or sewer company if a county or municipality has commenced or indicated intent to start eminent domain proceedings. McKay said without safeguards, a private utility could raise rates, increasing its value at the expense of residents. The bill has five core arguments…
