One Fair Wage Headed For Referendum in D.C.

The District of Columbia Board of Elections voted Wednesday to approve the subject matter determination for a proposed ballot initiative titled the “District of Columbia Living Wage for All Amendment Act of 2026.” The measure would raise the minimum wage to $25 an hour for all workers in the District with no exceptions, including tipped workers. In the coming months, supporters will be in the District’s eight wards to get signatures to put the proposal on the ballot.
