Superintendent Warns Against Cyberbullying

Incidents of cyberbullying are on the rise in Maryland’s schools. Over 8,000 bullying and cyberbullying incidents were reported in the 2023-24 school year, but many of the cases go unreported, often over fears of retribution. The Maryland State Board of Education is required to report bullying incidents annually to the Maryland General Assembly. “Kids are suffering in silence because of the antics that are happening online. So I encourage our parents – get involved with your children, make sure you understand what their digital activities are and bad things are happening. I need our parents to support that.”
