Shapiro Speaks To Firefighters

Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania was in Washington D.C. this week to speak at the annual conference of the International Association of Fire Fighters. Shapiro took the opportunity to thank the first responders that answered the call when the governor’s mansion was set on fire last year.  He also said that Pennsylvania is working to advance bills that cover firefighters’ healthcare for toxins they experience on the job…

“I’m calling on the Pennsylvania General Assembly to pass legislation that ensures cancer screenings are covered by insurers for firefighters. Those dollars should never come out of the pockets of firefighters.”
