County resident Kit Pepper Lescallete approached the Allegany County Commissioners last week about county policy on solar farms. The possible location of a farm along Cash Valley Road has drawn attention as projects increase across the state. Lescallete asked for a county moratorium on solar farms. Commissioner Bill Atkinson said the county started late in the game but is working on addressing issues…

“We do know there are some issues within the ordinance that we are looking at. We did send a letter to the PSC stating our opposition to the location for that one particular solar farm. And we are looking now at what we can do to improve our ordinance and where locations may be better served to have those.”
