Southern Girls Win State Basketball Title

The third time was the charm for the Southern girls as they defeated Pikesville, 52-46, for the 1A title Saturday evening at UMBC.  Southern had lost the title game the previous two years to Pikesville, which had won 5 straight championships.  Landon Todd becomes the fifth head coach to win a state title at Southern, joining his grandfather, Don Stemple.
