WV Increases EMS Funding Statewide

A bill on Governor Patrick Morrisey’s desk will utilize $12 million dollars of state lottery funds for Emergency Medical Personnel statewide. Six million will be distributed across the state with a one-third match from counties. The remaining money will benefit counties with an ambulance levy. Mineral County Delegate Gary Howell co-sponsored the bill that will also support Potomac Valley Hospital…
“Potomac Valley Hospital is rated one of the top in the nation. As a result, we’ve gotta make sure our ambulance service is also one of the best there is. So, this additional funding will go a long way for that.”
