Senate Passes BRFA

The Maryland Senate passed its version of the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act, or BRFA this week. In attempts to cut back on taxes that are affecting Marylanders, Senator Mike McKay offered two budget amendments that failed to pass– one to establish a Roads and Bridges account to ensure transportation revenue is used for infrastructure and one to repeal recent vehicle registration fee increases…
“It is yet another recurring cost, layered on to the rising prices of fuel, insurance, housing and groceries. For many Marylanders, especially those in rural and working class communities, these increases are not easily absorbed.”
