New Flower Shop Benefited From Grant Programs

Loney’s Flower Bar on Liberty Street is one of the newest businesses to locate in downtown Cumberland. The business is in a renovated building near the new waterfall and features fresh flowers and gifts. Shannon Sprenkle who owns the business, said that grants available through the state of Maryland are what enabled her and other to get their businesses going…

“There were several grants that went to the downtown in different phases. Myself and Sprinkle’s Candy Shop beside me – they received a grant and so did I. We got a pot of money that was to help fund your business, kind of like a startup fund.”
