House/Senate Pass Bills On Cell Phone Use In Schools

Two similar bills have passed the House and Senate in Maryland that would restrict the use of cellphones by students during the school day. The Maryland State Board of Education had already encouraged school systems in August to come with policies for the current school year. Allegany County passed a cellphone policy in July of 2025.The bills in Annapolis have now crossed over to committees.
