Judge Michael Twigg has been named the administrative judge for Allegany County Circuit Court, in advance of the retirement of Judge Jeffry Getty in June.  The announcement came Tuesday afternoon from the Maryland Supreme Court.  Twigg will oversee the administration of circuit court, along with its budget and calendar for disposition of cases.  Twigg was sworn in as a circuit court judge in 2021 after his appointment by Governor Larry Hogan.  He had previously served as state’s attorney for Allegany County.  Twigg served this past year as mock trial instructor at Allegany High School.
