Sparrows Point Groundbreaking

A billion dollars in mostly private investment is driving growth at the Port of Baltimore. A groundbreaking took place Friday on a 330-acre container terminal project. The joint venture of Trade Point Atlantic and Terminal Investment Limited will effectively double capacity at the Port, one of the largest in the country. TVI CEO Amar Kannan said the project would lead to more investments…

“When you build the foundation of the supply chain, when you build the infrastructure of a port, then the other elements come. And then investment becomes easy, and people are encouraged to build around it. The upstream and downstream of the supply chain.”

Governor Wes Moore said the project will move the needle on employment in the region…

“This project is going to support just in Baltimore County alone, over 1,100 new, permanent union jobs.”
